Unit 66 and 72 Wood Lane End
Hemel Hempstead
In the early hours of 12 December 2005 a massive explosion ripped through the Buncefield Oil Depot at Hemel Hempstead causing widespread damage to the nearby Industrial Estate and surrounding residential area.
ING Real Estate owned two warehouse units located 750m from the depot, which were both severely damaged by the blast. Windows/doors were blown in, internal walls damaged, suspended ceilings collapsed and external wall and roof sheets were blown off. TFT ensured that the frame was checked and this was found to be unaffected.
TFT were appointed by ING Real Estate to assess the condition of the building and project manage the reinstatement works, which included re-covering the roof to one building and significant roof repairs to the other.
In addition to managing the project team, TFT’s role included acting as an interface between the Loss Adjuster (GAB Robins), the landlord and tenant regarding the administration of the insurance claim.
