TFT has been appointed onto the M&G Building Surveying Term Consultancy Agreement. The national framework will extend over three and a half years and will cover core Building Surveying roles, including: Project Management; Technical Due Diligence; Development Monitoring; Dilapidations and Neighbourly Matters. It will also entail Mechanical and Electrical Services, Employers Agent and Cost Consultancy.

Alan Pemberton, Managing Partner, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, said:

M&G is now a slightly different business to how they were when we lasted worked for them. Today there is a major emphasis on investing in large, high quality assets across the UK and Europe. Naturally we are delighted to have been instructed by such an internationally important investor. We expect to be very busy indeed.

We won!

We were pleased when our Estates Gazette front cover was shortlisted for Front Cover of the Year by EG and absolutely chuffed to bits to actually win it.

TFT Managing Partner Alan Pemberton is seen here receiving the award from EG Editor Damian Wild and presenter Naga Munchetty at the recent PMA Awards. Our ‘Here for when your world gets a little more risky’ cover bought gasps and then cheers when it was shown in the auditorium.

So if you need to de-risk your property assets, you know who to talk to.

TFT at MIPIM for the 20th year

TFT will once again be out in force at MIPIM this year. David Mann, Alan Pemberton, Dan Henn and Paul Spaven will all be in attendance at Cannes and putting their best foot forward along the Croisette.

On the agenda for meetings this year will be Technical Due Diligence (TDD) and how we deliver objective advice to manage risk, inform the transaction process and establish the inherent worth of the property or portfolio on acquisitions in the UK and across Europe. We will also be discussing Project Management, combining the discipline of project management with a thorough understanding of building construction; helping investors, lenders, developers, owners and occupiers achieve best value from their property assets. Get in touch if you would like to meet up.

New partner appointed at TFT

TFT, independent property and construction consultancy, has announced the appointment of Murray Anderson as Technical Partner leading its Development Management team. Murray joins TFT from Aspire Development Management where he spent two years working with blue-chip property companies in developing mixed-use schemes.

Alan Pemberton, Managing Partner, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, said:

We pride ourselves on our long-standing and close relationships to clients; none more so than during this time of uncertainty. This market requires us to be genuinely focused on understanding the main drivers affecting our clients’ projects.

Murray brings a wealth of experience to TFT, seamlessly managing a number of major schemes for some of the UK’s most well-known property investors. We are delighted to welcome him on board in this pivotal role, leading and growing this part of TFT.

TFT Edinburgh makes first promotion to partner on first anniversary

Neil Wotherspoon from TFT’s Edinburgh office has been promoted to Technical Partner. TFT Edinburgh was launched 12 months ago by Neil who joined TFT from AECOM. Since that time, the team has grown fourfold serving clients in Edinburgh and across Scotland and the North East of England including Screwfix, Tesco, Royal Bank of Scotland and Aviva Investors.

Alan Pemberton, Managing Partner, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, said:

Neil’s promotion is well-deserved. He not only launched TFT Edinburgh but has seen its client base grow, expanded the team and increased our presence in Edinburgh’s strong commercial property market. One of Neil’s major strengths is his high-level client servicing that works alongside strong technical capability. It’s a pleasure to see this promotion come about only one year after his appointment.

Neil Wotherspoon, Technical Partner, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, said:

With a robust construction sector and a fast-paced transactional market, Scotland is in a healthy position to capitalize on this type of market. I’m delighted to be continuing to play my part in TFT’s success here in Edinburgh.

EG Awards 2016 – TFT shortlisted for ‘Specialist Adviser of the Year’

TFT has been shortlisted in the #EGAwards16 in the ‘Specialist Adviser’ category. Alan Pemberton, Managing Partner, said:

It has been a real year of growth at TFT, investing in our people and providing top-notch support to our clients. It’s great to have that recognised by the judges for this year’s EG Awards.

TFT at MIPIM, again. Project Management & TDD on the agenda.

This will be our 19th year at MIPIM and we suspect it is going to be a very busy one, given the state of the UK property market and continued inward investment from abroad.

This year, we will be updating the market on two key areas of our business:

Technical Due Diligence (TDD) – where we deliver objective advice essential to managing risk, informing the transaction and establishing the inherent worth of the property or portfolio. We support UK and inbound investors who wish to acquire commercial property in the UK and across Europe. This is an area where we have seen strong growth and we are ideally placed to provide local support, knowledge and insights ‘on the ground’.

Project Management, where we bring a tenacious yet objective approach to the role, combining the discipline of project management with Tuffin Ferraby Taylor’s (TFT) thorough understanding of how buildings are constructed. We bring a qualitative approach to the development as well as milestone-based delivery. Our advice to investors, lenders, developers, owners and occupiers helps them achieve best value from their property assets. Developers may wish to discuss how TFT adds value to refurbishment, extension and new build schemes.

Alan Pemberton, Paul Spaven, David Mann and Dan Henn will be attending. Get in touch if you would like meet up.
