David founded TFT in 1973, retiring from the partnership in April 2009. He continues to be heavily involved with the practice, helping to lead the specialist expert witness team.

A leading figure in the industry, David held the prestigious post of President of the RICS in 2007-8. During his career he has also held the roles of RICS Building Surveyors Divisional President (1991-2), member of the RICS General Council (1988-2000), Chairman of the RICS South East Regional Board (2000-4) and Chairman of the RICS Council of England (2004-5). He has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Consultant Building Surveyors and is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.

As a highly respected building surveyor, David's knowledge is regularly relied upon to help resolve litigation conflicts and he has provided expert testimony in courts of all levels in both the UK and overseas.
