Stephen set up TFT’s cultural heritage division in 1998 and is one of the leading experts in the country on the sustainability, conservation and regeneration of heritage sites. He has an impressive background in heritage conservation, which includes forming the RICS Conservation Group and chairing the RICS Conservation Committee and Conservation Skills Panel for nine years.
A published author on the management of built heritage and the role of cultural significance in conservation, he has also won numerous industry awards, including the Peter Stone Award from the Association of Building Engineers in 1993 and the RICS ‘People in Conservation’ award in 1999.
Having retired from the practice in 2009, Stephen continues to provide consultancy services on a number of heritage projects, particularly with conservation area appraisals.
