James heads the Birmingham office and has been a partner for 11 years. He specialises in project monitoring, employer’s agent, contract administration, dilapidations, building surveys and party wall matters. The location of the Birmingham office in the Golden Triangle of Logistics has enabled James to develop a particular expertise in the logistics and distribution sectors. He has also cultivated strong relationships with diverse clients from Aberdeen Standard, CWC Group and M&G to RBS, Wincanton and Warwick District Council.
Notable instructions have included monitoring the construction of new distribution centres at Optimus Point, Leicester, Birch Coppice in Tamworth and a back-to-frame office refurbishment in central Birmingham. He has acted as the employer’s agent for an Innovation Park at Tournament Fields in Warwick, provided dilapidations advice in connection with a terminal dilapidations claim on a Coventry-based distribution hub and resolved party-wall matters connected with various social housing schemes in Warwick.
I particularly enjoy helping our clients realise their new-build projects: there is a real sense of achievement when projects are completed and handed over to our clients and their occupiers. This was particularly true following the construction of a new UK headquarters building in Warwick for Gerberit and the integration of its CAT B works.
What drives me is ensuring that proper objectives are met, which are only deliverable by listening and understanding our clients’ needs. Having a diligent, motivated approach helps, together with a good deal of experience.
