TFT in Leeds: supporting the UK’s fastest growing city

By TFT

Spring has sprung, and with it a new TFT office in Leeds! This exciting step follows a great year of significant growth for our team, and a host of excellent projects delivered across the country.

As the UK’s fastest growing city, and the driver of a region with a £64.6 billion economy and 3 million people, Leeds is a natural choice for our newest base. We already do a lot of work in the region, covering major leisure and entertainment developments, office, manufacturing, logistics and retail sectors. For instance, our portfolio-wide work for Legal & General across 10 HMRC regional hub buildings saw us working on 7 & 8 Wellington Place, by Leeds City Station, to deliver 378,000 sqft of prime office space for 3,800 civil servants.

With a strong pipeline of work still to come in the region, our new office lead Robin Holme will have plenty to keep him busy! Robin joins us from CPC Project Services, where he headed up the firm’s building surveying division. Before that, Robin led Watts Group’s Leeds office too.

Robin Holme, TFT Director and head of our Leeds office, explains what excites him about working in the city and the commercial property sectors of interest.

Alistair Allison, TFT Managing Partner says:

TFT’s significant growth, in what has been a challenging time for the real estate industry, has helped to drive new openings with major clients in both regions. This is firmly linked to our sustainability and decarbonisation services, which are on the rise as funds and occupiers re-assess how they create and use buildings to meet ESG targets. For this reason, we have brought our engineering and sustainability services together to bring clients a unique offer, which they can now access locally in the north east and south east regions.

“This move enables us to tap in to the pool of university talent and associated labour markets in these two locations, with leading RICS accredited courses in both cities. Post-Brexit and Covid, we predict there will be a desire for more non-core office locations amongst talent as well as clients, with both Leeds and Southampton in an ideal position to attract inward movers.” We have adapted excellently to the hybrid model of working and feel an expanded network with wider geographic coverage will be a real benefit to our clients.
