Liberty House, Regent Street
The Office Group
Flexible workspace provider, The Office Group, saw an opportunity to expand its presence by upgrading the prominent Liberty House on London’s busy Regent Street. The project will create more modern and flexible work and meeting spaces in this prime central London location. TFT was brought in to support the work as Cost Consultant and Employer’s Agent.
The site was formally the business centre of the luxury department store Liberty (giving to its name, Liberty House). Accordingly, the interiors take their inspiration from the famous store with stylish coloured textiles.
The character, history and location of the building added several elements for the project team to consider throughout this redevelopment. For example, this Grade II listed building sits within the Regent Street Conservation Area. In addition, the ground, first and second floor are occupied retail units, which means that any works must not impact the running of those functions and maintain a safe and tidy site whilst the upper floors are being refurbished. Some further logistical limitations were also imposed by Westminster and, having commenced just before the Spring 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, we have had to consider site management with enhanced hygiene and safety protocols.
The project completed in December 2020, thanks to a focused and diligent project team and great collaboration between client, contractor and consultants.
